How Are Studies Structured?
Metadata in BioConnect is structured using the ISA format.
- Investigations (Umbrella organizer, contains one or more studies)
- Studies (Main organizer, contains one or more assays)
- Assays (Includes data files for specific measures)
- Studies (Main organizer, contains one or more assays)
Studies contain sections for Assays, Contacts, Publications, Protocols, Sources (animals or patients in the study).
Assays contain sections for Measurement Type, Samples (may be whole animal if behavioral measure), Data Files (may be downloaded along with their metadata as a data package), and Process descriptions.
